OFFICE POLICIES
Office Hours:
Everyday Counseling’s operating office hours are from 8am-4:30pm, Monday through Friday, with evening and Saturday appointments available dependent upon counselor availability. Office staff and management are available between 8am-4:30pm Monday through Friday.
Appointments:
An appointment at Everyday Counseling is a contract between a counselor and client, whom will both be present at the designated appointment time. The initial counseling appointment may last 90 minutes. Following sessions will occur weekly to bi-weekly for 45-60 minutes. Frequency and duration of treatment will be determined by the client’s overall progress and symptom management.
Supervision of Minors:
Everyday Counseling requires minors to be accompanied to appointments by a parent, legal guardian, or other authorized adult. If the client will be accompanied to the appointment by an unauthorized adult, the parent/guardian is responsible to notify Everyday Counseling prior to the appointment. While the client is in the session, the accompanying adult may leave the office so long as he/she is available by phone contact in case of an emergency. The authorized adult is expected to be present in the office by the end of the designated appointment time.
Cancellations and Missed Appointments:
If the client needs to cancel or reschedule an appointment, it is expected that the counselor be notified 24 hours in advance. However, emergencies do arise and 24-hour notice may not be feasible, at which time contact should be made as soon as possible. Depending upon counselor availability, appointments may be scheduled for a different day and time. Everyday Counseling requests that a notification be made if the client is running late to the appointment. Due to scheduling availability, if the client is running more than 15 minutes late, he/she may not be seen. If the client does not attend the appointment without prior notification Everyday Counseling has the right to move another client onto the designated appointment time. Everyday Counseling has the right to discontinue services after two consecutive cancelled or missed appointments.
Crisis and Emergencies:
Office staff is available from 8am-4:30pm Monday through Friday; If a client crisis arises during these hours, a parent or guardian may contact the counselor at (260) 471-8141. The client’s counselor, or another counselor, will schedule a crisis intervention appointment within 24 hours of contact. However, if a life-threatening emergency arises at any time, call 9-1-1 or go to the nearest Emergency Room. Everyday Counseling does not have a 24/hour on-call service line; therefore, if an emergency or crisis occurs after hours call 9-1-1, Fort Wayne or local Crisis Intervention Team or go to the nearest Emergency Room.
